Introduction to Nei Gong
Friday March 6th, 6 – 8 pm
Location: Hand to Hand Kajukenbo Self-Defense Center
For thousands of years, Chinese martial arts have utilized a complex understanding of the energetic body to create exercises for healing, strengthening and overall well being. Through a combination of lecture and movement, this class explores the basic tenets and concept of Nei Gong, as well as how to integrate a Nei Gong practice in daily life, or into a martial arts practice. Open to all levels of experience.
Xing Yi Nei Gong
Saturday March 7th, 9 am – 12 pm: Xing Yi Nei Gong Part 1 (upper body)
Saturday March 7th, 2 – 5 pm: Xing Yi Nei Gong Part 2 (lower body)
Location: Hand to Hand Kajukenbo Self-Defense Center
Learn these outstanding health and longevity exercises created by Wang Ji Wu, a famous martial artist and doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Wang, who lived to be over 100 years old, designed these exercises to serve as both a power training method for martial arts and a system of health exercises to prevent illness and improve health. These sixteen simple yet profound exercises work the body from head to toe, combining breathing with gentle yet precise movements.
Open to all. No prior experience in martial arts or nei gong is necessary. For anyone who seeks to increase vitality, strength, coordination and balance. Participants often report additional benefits including a calmer spirit, improved sleep, greater resistance to illness and reduction in joint pain.
Zi Ran Qi Gong
Sunday March 8th, 9 – 11 am
Location: outdoors at Emeryville Marina, weather permitting
Bring your energetic self into harmony with that of our natural world. Zi Ran (Natural) Qi Gong teaches how to experience the macrocosm of the elements within the microcosm of our own bodies. Wear appropriate clothing to be exercising outside! Open to all levels of experience.
Fee Structure:
Fri night or Sunday morning only: $35
Saturday classes: $45 each or $75 for both
